Speaker Impedance Overview
The impedance selected on the amp must match the the total impedance
of the cab(s) connected. Marshalls® are always in parallel on
selectable pairs of outputs. Plug in two 16 ohm cabs and set the
selector for 8 ohms. Plug in two 8 ohm cabs and set it for 4 ohms.
Different Marshalls® have different switching options/outputs
but they're always parallel. The DSL has a dedicated 16 ohm out for
one cab as opposed to a 16 ohm option on the parallel jacks.
The large filter caps on amps such as the JMP 2203 are actually
two capacitors that share a common negative (the middle post on the cap).
The 2203 is 50+50uf 500 volts. The newer replacement caps like the F&Ts and JJs
all have a diameter of 35mm and they fit in the stock retainers.
They are not as tall as the originals, but work fine.
